ESC Region 12 offers professional development in
behavior and classroom management. The goal is to
provide educators with strategies to create well managed
instructional environments and to provide positive
behavior supports for students with challenging behaviors.
Specialists can also assist districts with the process
of developing or revising a comprehensive, campus
plan for improving student behavior.
Classroom Management Workshop:
Specifically designed to meet the needs
of the individual campus based on the campus improvement
plan, recommendations of the Site-Based Decision Making
team and other critical needs of the campus.
CHAMPS: ESC Region 12 provides training in CHAMPS, a proactive classroom management program. This program reviews the key components of structuring a classroom for success through addressing the environment, teaching procedures, goal setting and motivating students.
CPI: Non-violent Crisis Intervention:
CPI is a management system for de-escalating
a potential crisis situation. Training provides strategies to safely manage disruptive and assaultive student behavior.
TBSI: Texas Behavior Support
Initiative is designed to build campus level knowledge
and skills on the use of positive behavior supports
for students with disabilities and to build campus
level capacity on the use of positive behavior interventions
with all students.
Schoolwide Discipline Training: This training
assists campus teas in developing a comprehensive plan
to address school discipline. The model encourages the
use of positive behavior supports to create a safe, orderly
and predictable environment for all students.
Cooperative Discipline: This program provides
educators with corrective and supportive preventative
strategies that address misbehavior in the classroom.
Discipline With Love and Logic: Provides educators
with the tools that they need to teach children to manage
their own behavior in the classroom.
