Robotics Event Brings Cutting-Edge Science to the Classroom
WACO, TEXAS— The Education Service Center (ESC) Region 12 Science Collaborative has teamed up with various robotics programs to showcase successful and engaging technology-based programs to science educators. The event, sponsored by ESC Region 12 and Innovation First, Inc., will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 31 at ESC Region 12.
“We are excited for our Region 12 Texas Regional Science Collaborative is experiencing this robotics event. The demonstration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in such an engaging format will provide ideas for the teachers to involve students and achieve a problem-solving learning environment,” said Laura Calhoun, director of the ESC Region 12 Science Collaborative.
Robotics supports STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) education and fosters technical and interpersonal skills for students to succeed in the 21st century and beyond. Educators will discover how these programs encourage students to use their minds strategically to develop plans, solve problems and think critically. During the session, educators will take part in a competition and also walk through a tradeshow style of Robotics exhibits.
