COPPERAS COVE SUPERINTENDENT CAMERON NAMED STATE FINALIST
FOR SUPERINTENDENT OF THE YEAR

WACO, Texas - Dr. Rose Cameron, superintendent at Copperas Cove ISD (CCISD), has been selected to represent Region 12 as one of five finalists for the 2009 Superintendent of the Year (SOTY) award. The State Selection Committee chose the following state finalists:

• Region 1: Oscar Rodriguez, Jr., Mission CISD
• Region 4: Mark Henry, Galena Park ISD
• Region 11: Ray Braswell, Denton ISD
• Region 12: Rose Cameron, Copperas Cove ISD
• Region 13: Jesús Chávez, Round Rock ISD

Cameron has 17 years of administrative experience, three of which she has served as the superintendent of CCISD. She began her career as a sixth-grade teacher, and since has been an assistant principal, principal, professor, deputy superintendent and superintendent. Her past six years in education have been with CCISD.

Finalists will be interviewed Fri., Oct. 2, in Houston at the 2009 TASA/TASB Convention. All regional winners and state finalists will be recognized, and the state winner will be announced on Sat., Oct. 3, at the second general session.
