12th Annual Statewide Evaluation
Conference (SWEP) for Evaluation Personnel Slated
for Feb. 5-7, 2009

Texas - The twelfth annual Statewide Evaluation
Conference for Special Education Evaluation Personnel
will be held Thursday, February 5 through Saturday,
February 7, 2009 at the Westin Galleria Hotel in
Houston, TX.
SWEP is organized and hosted by the Statewide Leadership
for Evaluation which is a decentralized function
of TEA. ESC Region 12 is the lead for the Statewide
Leadership for Evaluation. This group is represented
by an evaluation specialist from each Education Service
Center across the state. The purpose of this conference
is to bring new information on evaluation to school
personnel and provide networking opportunities with
people across the state involved in the evaluation
of children with disabilities.
The keynote speaker will be Dr. Donna Smith who
will present on Connecting Evaluations to Intervention.
Hot topics this year will include RTI, CBM, overrepresentation
of minority students in special education, and legal
experts just to name a few.
Last year’s conference was attended by more
than 800 participants! Register today and we look
forward to seeing you in Houston!
CPE credits will be offered to participants, and
TSHA CE credits are pending.
Handouts will be available in digital format online
and on CD at the conference for no additional charge.
Printed notebooks containing the handouts are available
for an additional $30 fee. The deadline for ordering
printed notebooks containing the handouts is January
5, 2009. To order a printed notebook containing
the handouts you must "register"
for "session" 30082 .
